BE AS OUT AS YOU WANT TO BE

An important DE&I milestone: Creating an LGBTQ+ Benefits Guide.
Ìý
We understand that some employees might not feel comfortable being their authentic selves at work. That’s why we created an LGBTQ+ Benefits Guide, which goes beyond the standard descriptions available to all employees to include topics of special relevance to the LGBTQ+ community.
Ìý
Our goal with the guide is to proactively answer any health care-related questions for our LGBTQ+ employees so that they don’t need to ask. It includes topics such as family formation, same-sex spousal and domestic partner benefits, LGBTQ+ mental health resources, transgender-inclusive healthcare and HIV treatment and prevention options, among others.
The guide is one way we can respect the privacy of employees who may not be ready to out themselves to their boss or coworkers.
Being the parent of a transgender teen means we sometimes find ourselves navigating tricky health care scenarios. To respect the privacy of our child, we don’t always want to broadcast what we are dealing with. The LGBTQ+ Benefits Guide is tangible evidence that my company cares about its employees and is willing to go the extra mile.
